Multiple interconnect technologies for chip-to-chip and system fabrics are currently being used in communications, compute, and embedded applications. These include proprietary technologies and add cost and complexity to design. Manufacturers are looking for ways to easily integrate compute and communication components to meet the demand for more modular and multi-purpose platform solutions that can be re-used for different applications.
